Our Story
After years in the microbrewing business, producing gold medal, local brews, our choice was to create a local product, that was organic/fairtrade and supported sustainable farming and ultimately small plantations. We roast 6 different coffee bean varieties from regions around the world. The coffee choices are premium, small batch varieties, organic/fairtrade and lower in acidity.
From time to time, we bring in Jamaican Blue Mountain (certified) and add 20-25% to specific roasts. Jamaican Blue Mountain is renowned worldwide & adds a specific mellowness and undeniable flavour, to the beans.

From brew to brew…
Labelling
Out of the old comes the new.. After finding archival maps of my great grandfathers, we were inspired to use these gorgeous hand illustrated charts from the 1920s, as a backdrop to the roastery and packaging.
A nod to generations of piloting and maritime mapping on the west coast.
Roasting
Our roasters are Italian made “Sweet Gemmas” and roast 1800 grams per batch. It is a beautiful, Italian machine that is perfect for nanoroasting and hand batching. After the beans are roasted at various temperatures, depending on the roasts, the beans are then left for 2-3 days to mellow before they are hand packaged.
The beans range in price from $19-$40.00 per 454 gms or 1 lb bags.
Available on Bowen Island at Phoenix, Alderwood Farms, Tosh in Artisan, The Flower Shop, The Emporium or through the Roastery. We will also deliver to certain areas in Vancouver or ship a package for $20.00
